Rest In Peace, Matthew...

Matthew Joseph John Oresik - October 6, 2002 - March 4, 2009

It is with great sadness that I write this post tonight. Matthew passed away peacefully today, wrapped in the love of his family.

We'd like to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We also ask that anyone that would like to share a special story, or a memory of Matthew, to please comment here. At the bottom of each posting, you'll see a link to "# comments". Just click here and tell your story.

A memorial fund will be set up to help cover medical and funeral costs. Information regarding that fund will be included here as soon as it is finalized.

Funeral arrangements are also pending at this time. As soon as they are defined, we will update this blog with that information as well.

His Journey's Just Begun
By Ellen Brenneman

Don't think of him as gone away--
his journey's just begun
life holds so many facets
this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.

Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.

And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched...
for nothing loved is ever lost--
and he was loved so much.

  3. Our son is in the 3rd grade at Fall Creek. We are so saddened by your loss. I can only imagine what the loss of a child would be like. Just know that he is safe and at peace now. Our prayers are with your family at this time.

I am a worship leader at the Green Valley Church of Christ in Noblesville. I would like to offer to bring a small group to sing at the funeral to maybe provide a little comfort and hope. Please contact me at lloyd@samuellloydshelby.com if we can help.
God bless, Lloyd Shelby and family

  5. My heart goes out to your family. Nobody should ever have to go through something so tragic as losing a child let alone in such a tragic way. I did not know him or his family but my nephews go to school at Thorpe Creek and are both around his age. I can't help but shed a tear of sadness for this young boy and the family. It just is not a fair situation, but remeber to be strong and know everything happens for a reason, I am sure he has changed and touched a lot of people lives in his short six years. May he forever be blessed with peace and tranquility. I'm sorry.

  8. My heart goes out to the entire family, for the tragic and heartwrenching loss of Matthew. I feel so blessed that I was given the chance to get to know Matthew and his loving family. He was a wonderful, sweet, and kind young man who's life was tragically ended all to soon. My children enjoyed playing spiderman games and watching High School Musical with Matthew. Our hearts and our prayers go out to everyone whom loved Matthew just as we do. God Bless.

  10. I did not know Matthew, but I know his sister, Chrissy. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family. Losing a younger brother is just not natural. I have a quote for her,

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
